Co-Founder
Silvana pioneers Adaptive Technology Services with over 20 years of expertise in assistive technology for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. As the company’s owner, she is committed to providing innovative, unbiased solutions that empower clients—from individuals to organizations and government agencies—to achieve greater digital accessibility and independence. Under her leadership, ATS has become a trusted resource known for expert consulting, training, and technical support. Silvana is also a frequent speaker at key accessibility events, including those hosted by the California Association of Museums and Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, advocating for equity and inclusive access.
Steven Clark
Co-Founder
Steven Clark leads Adaptive Technology Services with a focus on innovation and technical expertise, developing personalized assistive technology solutions that enhance accessibility for people who are blind or visually impaired. With extensive experience creating customized JAWS scripts and adaptive tools, he drives the company’s mission to break down barriers and empower clients—both individuals and organizations—to regain independence and succeed in work and daily life. Steven’s hands-on approach and deep knowledge have made him a trusted authority, advancing inclusive technology through tailored support and innovative problem solving.
Elizabeth Loo
Office Manager
Elizabeth Loo is the office manager at Adaptive Technology Services and has been a vital part of the team for six years. She ensures the office runs smoothly by coordinating schedules, managing communications, and keeping the team connected and organized. Known for her attention to detail and supportive nature, Elizabeth creates an environment where the team can work efficiently and effectively. Her dedication and leadership play a key role in maintaining seamless operations, helping the entire organization function at its best and supporting staff and clients alike.
Ricky Kratter
Senior Technician and Low-vision Trainer
Ricky Krater provides specialized tech support and computer system installation, with expertise spanning CCTV, low vision software, and personalized training. He empowers customers to confidently use technology, enabling them to perform day-to-day activities independently. Ricky’s hands-on approach and dedication ensure clients receive tailored solutions that enhance accessibility and improve their quality of life. With a focus on understanding each client’s unique needs, he adapts technology to maximize usability and support. Ricky is committed to helping people gain independence through practical and effective tech solutions.
Michael Schwartz
Senior Technology Trainer
Michael has worked with Adaptive Technology Services since 2017. He is totally blind and brings diverse experience as a broadcast news reporter, documentary filmmaker, small business owner, and certified integral coach®. Michael trains clients on JAWS, VoiceOver, and NVDA, teaching how these screen readers work with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, social media, web browsers, and various blind-friendly hardware and software. An experienced blind sailor, runner, and hiker, Michael is always planning his next travel adventure. He says, “Success is not that practice makes perfect, but that practice makes it possible.”
Mary Del Angel
Office Assistant
Mary (they/them) is the Office Assistant at Adaptive, supporting clients with scheduling, answering questions, and connecting them to helpful services. Originally from Southern California, Mary earned a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley in 2021, where they developed a strong appreciation for the Bay Area. Since joining Adaptive, they have been inspired by the innovative assistive technologies available for individuals with visual impairments. Passionate about accessibility, Mary is committed to learning more to better serve clients and promote inclusion. They are grateful to be part of a team dedicated to creating a more accessible future for all.
Ronny Gaal
Rehabilitation Engineer
Ronny has 35 years of experience in adaptive technology (AT) for people with disabilities, focusing mainly on worksite accommodations for California DOR clients. Joining ATS in 2023, he brings expertise in AT hardware and software to improve ergonomics, physical computer access, and support for learning disabilities and cognitive challenges. He collaborates with vision and blindness AT specialists to conduct evaluations, set up equipment, provide training, and create custom modifications. Ronny enjoys fixing and making things. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Brown University, studied AT at SF State, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California.
Michael Loo
Office Assistant
Michael Loo is a motivated twenty-one-year-old college student pursuing a career in education. Over the past two years, he has been an integral part of the ATS team, efficiently supporting daily administrative operations. Michael assists the technical staff with equipment installations, setup, and troubleshooting, ensuring that clients receive the precise tools and technology they need to succeed academically and personally. His versatility, strong work ethic, and willingness to take on a diverse array of responsibilities make him an invaluable member of the team, consistently demonstrating reliability and a commitment to excellence.

Debbie Worstman, a certified Access Technology Specialist with over a decade of experience, is passionate about using technology to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities. She currently supports Northern California DOR students, providing tools, training, and guidance to enhance learning, build confidence, foster independence, and empower them to succeed in education, work, and everyday life.
Kathy Abrahamson
Kathy Abrahamson, M.A.Ed., is a Rehabilitation Teacher with a California K–8 credential, specializing in supporting blind, low vision, and DeafBlind individuals. She empowers youth, adults, and seniors to develop essential independent living and pre-employment skills, guiding them to confidence and autonomy. Kathy’s consumer-led, collaborative approach ensures practical, lasting skills for success at home, school, and work.
Kelly Whittlesey
Kelly is an ergonomic specialist in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2017. She holds a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, CEAS II & III certifications, and is a Certified Office Ergonomics Evaluator. Kelly uses expertise in body mechanics, behavior, and task analysis to reduce ergonomic risks, improve workspace function, and promote healthier, more comfortable workstyles across industries.
Gina di Grazia
Gina di Grazia, an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Low Vision Therapist, and Occupational Therapist, brings decades of experience helping clients regain independence, confidence, and self-advocacy. She combines broad expertise with collaborative, tailored training to support daily life, work, and community. Outside work, she enjoys swimming, hiking, biking, fiber and mail art, museum visits, and sharing meals with loved ones.
Danette Davis
Danette Davis, a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist with 18 years’ experience, has taught students of all ages, including those with multiple disabilities and guide dog users, across varied settings. She emphasizes individualized, age-appropriate OM and ILS instruction, using thorough assessments and tailored strategies to foster independence, confidence, and job readiness in transition-age and adult learners.
