In recent years it has been exciting to see and hear an increase in the dialog about hiring people with disabilities, and even more to see a change in the hiring practice of some major corporations.

However, less attention has been afforded to those presently in the workforce. These employees may experience changes that can impact their performance and productivity. Often long term, highly skilled workers are presented with the frightening prospect of divulging a great secret: that they feel they are no longer capable of doing what they could before –

Their job!
And it may be true, that alone and in hiding they cannot; but this is an avoidable situation. With the support of the employer and colleagues, there are strategies and resources to ensure the employer can retain the skills of this experienced employee.

This is the power of inclusion!
Please join us at EmploymentLINK 2013 to explore and better understand these strategies and resources to empower the evolving workforce. This is not a job fair, but a forum for dialogue and learning through expert speaker presentations, interactive training modules, and panel presentations.

Don’t miss this one day opportunity to interact with employment and HR professionals. Hear from software developers who are working to make their products accessible and meet technology manufacturers and service providers that support this community. Most importantly, hear directly from working professionals with disabilities and learn how an inclusive work environment has impacted their lives.

Who should attend?
Employers and their representatives, HR professionals, management and staff of the Department of Rehabilitation, and all professionals with an interest in employment matters for people with disabilities.
